We all want to take care of ourselves and live to our fullest potential. One of the best ways to do this is to eat a healthy diet.
      Walnuts are the highest of all the nuts in the omega-3’s that help protect against heart disease. Walnuts are full of fiber and unsaturated fat that can actually help lower the “bad” LDL cholesterol in our blood. Walnuts are even portable and easy to grab on the go. The problem for me, I just do not like the way they taste.
      But this recipe changes all that! I love these nuts! Wish I could give credit to the one who came up with this magic potion, but it’s a faded Xerox paper from somewhere long ago stuffed in my recipe book. Hope you give this a try. You’ll love the way they taste and how wonderful your house smells as you make them.
Yummy Walnuts
2 cups walnuts
1 egg white
dash of water
¼ cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon nutmeg
Beat egg and water until frothy. Mix nuts with egg until fully coated. Drain nuts in colander for a minute or two. Mix sugar and spices in a sturdy zip lock bag. Add the nuts. Thoroughly coat nuts by turning the closed bag every possible way. Put nuts on a butter greased tray. Bake at 225 degrees for 2 hours. Stir nuts every 20 minutes or so. Let them cool and enjoy!
